Garmin is the market leader in GPS sat-nav systems and unveils the new Edge 500 model in Milan.
It is with a carbon fibre inspired design. As well as the usual features, it also measures external temperature and calorie consumption. It is also totally wireless, waterproof and weighs just 56 grammes.
All data can be shared on line with a community via Garmin Connect, the site visited by fans athletes and coaches from around the world who are passionate about performance.
For triathletes there is the Forerunner 310XT, a waterproof wrist device for multisports. New outdoor models include the Oregon 550 and the Oregon 550t for mountain biking.
There are also the flatscreen Dakota 10 and 20 models which have a touchscreen and are ideal for mountain biking and other outdoor use.
