Sprinter Alessandro Petacchi was host of Garmin in EICMA Show’s Pavilon 9 on Saturday September 19.
The well-known GPS manifacturer provides Petacchi one of its top-level models, Edge 705. It is a special GPS, designed for cycling, light and able to provide cyclists all the information needed about paths and physiological data.
“With Edge 705 I have much more than an odometer, being always in control of heartbeat and expressed power, climbs’ gradient and I am able to save my training itineraries.”
The relationship between Garmin and Petacchi will go on in 2010, when the sprinter will dress in Lampre’s blue-fuchsia jersey. “I am very happy with my choice. In next season I will work with Team Manager Giuseppe Saronni, who was my idol when I started racing”, said Petacchi. “In 2010 season I will mainly focus on Milano-Sanremo and Giro d’Italia”.
