Alex De Angelis is about to face one of the most important weeks of his racing career. Despite a solid MotoGP season, that included second place in Indianapolis, he wasn’t kept on by Team Gresini. In the next seven days he will decide his future. For now he’s got several options but before he makes a final choice, De Angelis wanted to get the support of the EICMA MotoGP fans. Along with France’s Mike di Meglio, De Angelis was a guest on the Stylmartin stand, his boot sponsor. He spent most of time happily signing autographs on posters and t-shirts.
“After a difficult start to the season, things got better and better because as well as my second place in Indianapolis, I got other good results and finished eighth overall. Unfortunately because of the crisis, the private teams have had to change their strategy and favour pilots who can guarantee more financial support. ” De Angelis told www.eicma.it
He hasn’t given up on staying in MotoGP but it seems that he could switch to Superbike or the new Moto 2 category. “I’ve had a few offers from Superbike but there are also some Moto 2 teams who are very ambitious and who are interested in me. My goal, whatever category I race in, is to be win, so that I can quickly return to MotoGP, ” he said.
One thing is sure for 2010: He will be wearing Stylmartin boots. “Racing boots have evolved a lot in recent years, becoming a lot more protective of the foot and ankle. They’re important in making sure you get to the end of the season and that’s why I trust Stylmartin, ” De Angelis said.
Stylmartin has produced the new Stealth model for De Angelis and the public who like a racing style boot. It is the top of the Racing range. It is elegant and comes in black or white, with front and back shock absorber protectors to give total security.
